RE: Evo vs MG

Have to agree with Matty there.  go out and buy an Evo and what have you got?  just another Evo, the same as thousands of others.  Assuming it's within your abilities, if you bolt on a turbo kit to the MG, you get a 'did it myself' buzz that can't be beat!  And that feeling is priceless, believe me!

MG on this one. Yes EVO's they are very fast but dont do anything for me. Sticking a turbo on your MG will make it different...a sleeper? and special.

Yeah Jack TBH i think you should stick with the MG you've done so much to her it would be a shame to see someone else booting it around ....... Evo's are nice maybe in a few years but for now turn her into a sleeper as said above

I found out evo's 3 years free servicing....... isn't up to scratch.... service every 4000 miles , anything slightly expensive needs changing its not included!!!!!! so clutch's every 10000 miles, or with JACK every 1000 miles!!! and the free servicing is for only 27K miles or 3 years!!!! so 27K miles jack can do in a NIGHT!!!!

Little expensive really!!!!!!!!

You'd obviously have to buy a new Evo to get the free servicing, I was not impressed with the cheap basic 260 model at all, to get a decent Evo you'd have to get at least an FQ300 which is another £5k!

Still though, If I could finance it - i'd have an Evo VIIII FQ 400

But I'd rather stick and save for an Audi RS6

Echoing the other comments slightly..

EVO, it would be hard to stand out from the crowd seeing as everyone else seems to have one.

MG, 2 choices T Series 2 litre Turbo for big power or K Series 1.8 Turbo (from the 75 and ZT) for slightly less power.

Or if you really wanted to go a bit mad, the KV6 2.5 V6 lump, with the sprintex supercharger conversion.

The 1.8KT is what I'm considering for my 400.
