Sorry Husky. Didn't mean to freak you out. Basic details are available on the RAC site. Date of manufacture, owners, colour, engine. But not addresses and personal stuff.
Thought it was common knowledge. http://www.rac.co.uk You have to register, in the My rac link to view details of numbers. It's good for tracking your old cars.
Fair enough but to be honest just a bit pissed that you did it that way ..... I know people do that but if someone put their reg up on a Website i wouldn't sit there and go and check stuff out i would ask the person ... I think it's highly unethical. I know it's not overly personal stuff and that it can be accessed by anyone but still it's an easy way to freak someone the fuck out

At one time the police had to know all the areas in relation to number plates so they would recognise a car out of its area
Before we had the new year identidifiers oon the plate ie 03 etc the old style of plates used the last two letters to identify where the car first came from. This goes way back to the first cars on the road. If you go to the Isle of Wight out of holiday season practically all the cars are DL. have a look round North Essex area & you`ll see RT.OO.Cambridge uses AV a lot which was transfered from Aberdeen.
I`ve got a little book that I`ve since I was a lad with all the numbers in it.Post up the last two letters only of your rellys n mates & I`ll tell you where the car is from.My Chevy was first registered in the UK in Bolton.
That wasn't the point i was stating a fact that it was not the right thing to do to go and look someones car details up!!!! It was not the right thing to do!!! If i had questions about your car i would ask not go scooting around the internet looking it up!!!

didn`t mean too. area registrations are published in print,I didn`t actually go on the net. I`ve had my books for years .I thought everyone was aware of number plates areas.
As you drive round your home area you`ll soon see repeated last two digits on vehicles.espicially local traders.
CF is a local plate to West Suffolk so you`ll see lots of those.
