RE: Felixstowe Bridge Run

I see we've had no recent takers ........ Ere 40ies i think you should take up Matty P's offer and put the car on the rolling road ..... then we'll all know once and for all

think when my engine was first built i actually stopped on the straight bit off the roundabout. launched and by the 2nd bridge was doing about 120/125ish

probably 115 in the real world but as i stopped on the staright didn't think it was a bad effort.

Nah you're right it wasn't ........... I reckon you'd have to try it again on a dry day when there ain't a lot of traffic on the road

well ............................ my mate who went to the same school as me but at different times and different ages has got a FIAT 126. its stripped out, no glass, carpet, dash, seats, coffee table just got a babybliss clipper motor in it, lightened and balanced of course!!

I got him to do the 2nd bridge run .... well you will never guess this!!!!! its been timed by GPS, NASA, and my mates, mate, mate

He went round the rounderbout on 2 wheels yes 2 wheels at ...... 107mph in 2nd gear!!!!!!

Did 178.24mph @ the 2nd bridge but motor ran out of puff so going to try it again when he's got his F16 Iron eagle jet motor in!!!!!

couldn't resist

Thats not entirely true. My mates aunts nephews cousin was towing that car at the time with a huge elastic band. I suppose the elastic momentum build up by the tow vehicle at the time of passing the 2nd bridge made all the difference.

Really guys ........ 2 wheels that's fast so what was the G-Force on that are we gonna stop this now coz old 40ies has had a strop since chrimbo and don't wanna play anymore. Maybe he's set a whole track up in his bedroom to look like the way in to Felixstowe and he's looking and every possible physical way of making his Renault go more than 70mph Saddo

Did he get the new Scalitrix (sorry about the spelling, but you know what I mean) for Crimbo?   Only teasing!   Could be a safer thing to do, set up a mock-up of the A14 in your bedroom or at a pub meet or something and have races, no old Bill to worry about.  Fund raising idea maybe?

wouldn't think 2 wheels round that roundabout is a wise idea considering the slating it's got from its lorry reputation as being the death roundabout in Suffolk.

I think you ll find if it was a 4x4 Cosworth, changing the turbo aint gonna do shit for the top speed as thats what they ll do on the limiter in 5th.

You might ask how do I know, mine was 362bhp and topped out on the limiter at 159mph on a Stack digital speedo which is 99.9% correct
