all, corvettes even the new c6 uses leaf springs, is that right?

On the back, yes. The rear axle is a fully independant setup, and the newest 'Vettes have a carbon-fibre, monofilament transverse (side-to-side) leaf spring. Sounds old hat I know, but it works real well!
