Do we all have the correct cover for our pride & joy???
My first modded car involved scrapping my MGB and putting all the oily bits into an Austin A40,in those days all you had to do was to tell the insurance company of the change and all was well.
To-day it`s different, when I got the Chevy my insurance company sent a multi page document which stopped short at asking for an Engineers report on the thing.I had to list down EVERY thing that wasn`t stock, right down to the shift light,Head unit etc.I kind of got the feeling that if I was to try and claim the insurance company would do its best to wriggle out of its obligations unless I had told them of the changes.
So,I guess that this may well apply to those extra side skirts, induction filters, rear decks & even extra lights.Just by fitting a non stock accessory to your car you may have invalid insurance when you try to make a claim.
I could a lot of damage with my buggy if people park on the path!! Would I get fully comp or just third party?? Buggy's a bit old now, so perhapes third party would be enough!
Baby Bird is as tough as old boots and bounces well. She's probably uninsurable anyway, she's hasn't got any no claims bonus after she fell off a dinning chair and spilt her lip open in the summer,
