It hardly gets driven full stop! Doesn't come out in the rain, doesn't come out at all in winter, J wont take it anywhere where it has to be left in a car park for risk of dents (though some will remember Bruce Reeds 3 door being stolen from a pub car park in a sleepy village :-/ ) it gets wiped over and wheels cleaned everytime it goes out before it goes back into the garage, you worry something will happen to it to ruin it everytime it comes out!
Usually when we take it out I'll drive it back. I had to use the poor thing as an everyday car last year when the cabrio was having a new gearbox

Certainly gets looked after Rob.

rwd is fun, some people say real drivers cars. The one above is 4x4 but still steps out from time to time, think its 60 40 split 60% to the rear wheel AFAIK. We did think about a cheap rwd one, years since I drove a rwd cossie. Or Capri for that matter. I quite like rwd!

Yeah. Capri's gave RWD a bad name. Used to put a sack of potatoes in my old capri's boot. Otherwise I love RWD. Went stock car racing in July and they let us drive a capri around an oval track as quick as possible. Whoa!!! that was fun.

RWD is the most fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! il agree.

I do like your cosworth is nice, but whats the point having a car such as a cosworth and wrapping it up in cotton wool? they are a drivers car and are there to be driven.

Obviously not to hard or you end up with a dead engine!!!!! which im in the final stages of re-building mine. and as you know they def aint cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It gets driven hard, but as is such a nice example would like it to stay that way! If that means wiping it down everytime it goes out so be it, be worth it. Engine work was done before J bought it, it was rolling roaded (at Power Engineering, not everyone rates there figures!) at 296bhp, it doesn't boost much over 11psi (can't remember what the most it peaked at, possibly 14) I think the actuator probably tired, almost talked into buying a hybrid turbo, but he changed his mind, but it doesn't feel like its nearly 300bhp, maybe it was tuned, the some of the bits returned to normal - J too scared it will blow up to put it on the rollers. Think its had the head done in the past, probably due bottom end rebuild as is on 113k miles, though they all smoke a bit, it still runs sweet as a nut

Good!!!!!!!!! they do go very well.

I do hope that the bottom end doesn't go for ya as its a bomb to fix, but if you look after them they last ages!!!!!!!!

Mine - was stored for 3 years before i bought it!!!! was also 270-280 bhp blew it up one night @ silly speeds!!!!!!!!!!! would of sold it but its a limited edition saphire blue one (300 made) so was worth re-building problem is i get carried away...... im on £4000+ at moment with it!!!!! but will be good for 360bhp+ all day everyday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

£4000 + for 360bhp. Christ. You could fit a chevrolet that gives you 10 second quarters for that money.

I can see why we are a breed apart.

Was a black one for sale just under £3k, bargin too, only 12 of those made, was in deepest Scotland or something though! J's is Ebony, similar to flint grey but darker, almost black but metallic.

I know what blue you mean, can't remember the proper name off the top of my head!

It is expensive to get big bhp out of these cars, the jap blown ones too. Rod Tarry's sapphire has ove 750bhp & had 190ft/lb more torque than a McLaren F1. (614bhp/508ft/b + 150bhp Direct Port Nitrous) (Nitrous cheating in my opinion!) on his 59th birthday September this year he achieved the record for fastest sapphire hitting 201.8mph god knows what 1/4 it would get, though being rwd probably rubbish as can you imagine the traction on that? Probably cost a fortune over the years its been built

Muscle cars and modern cars eh, I know fast and furious cheesy, but did like the scene where they go up against each other

the colour name is crystal blue.

and as for the chevy - well yes but it wouldn't be a cosworth then!!!!!!!!

a 5.7l V8 or 8.2l V8 or what ever is all very good in your car but wouldn't really suite a sierra would it.

And as for the breed apart well............ cant really say how to take that!!!

Cabrio zo. Erm the fastest dragsters are RWD. In fact I've never seen a FWD dragster.

In fact you hardly ever see FWD cars in quartermile competition unless it's RWYB. IMO RWD is far superior. Except in a Capri

M4tty. No it wouldn't be a Cossie. But, it would be faster and sound nicer, if its speed you want. If you want it to stay a cossie why make it faster with expensive mods....it wont be a cossie as ford intended anymore. I dont agree a V8 in a Sierra does suite it. Doesn't have to be Chevy could use Ford V8. Many have been done. Why do you think it wouldn't suite?

Heres a Rover V8 Sierra. http://www.dynopower.freeserve.co.uk/homepages/sierra.htm

Breed apart. I mean between the Hot Rod scene and the late modified. We seem to squeeze the most power for the least money and you spend loads for small gains. We talk a different talk and walk a different walk.

Yeah I liked the scene when the Muscle v the Japs in Fand F2. Please dont start calling me Fonz or Ill start asking what cerial box yours came from.

I'm certainly not talking FWD! lol Rod's sapph built for top speed, not too much traction, have you seen this thing launch?! (Ok the first launch is this vid not too bad) That’s the only reason I say its ¼ mile may not be as good as you’d think, afaik its always the 4x4’s which hold the records (though those trick HKS torque split switch which people fit to Skylines you get the best of both worlds, 4x4 for the launch then switch to RWD to get the power down lessening the loss through transmission)

Hmm I dunno, would've thought would be quite famous around Sudbury if one was from here, I don't know on that one - but I suppose it has been proved possible!
