Yep,like that.Seen it before while on business. The interior was done at Dunton in the same design studio / model shop as Mondeo,Mazy other jags n bits of Aston. In fact if you look at the door cards, all the controls are in the same place as a mondy( nuthin wrong with that though).Ford dropped their top models some time ago because they were competing with other Ford owned companies.Their reason is that Granada was the equivilant to a Volvo in pricing and manufacturing cost.
The automotive market place is now all about branding & how the marketters can influence the easily lead by receptive association .e.g How many people now drive illegaly with the front fog lights on because they`ve seen some one they admire doing it in a TV ad or programme, even if it`s subconsious it is still because they are easily lead . Marketing depends on this to sell brands, images, aspiring lifestyles.FASHION.Why else would someone buy a a very expensive Toyota dressed up to look like a high brand Mercedes or indeed any other 4 x 4 apart from a Landy or Ranger / Disco
Clarkson had a piece in the paper the weekend about this. Originally this was Jag's concept car but they've decided to release it. I think it's showing everyone what the future of cars is gona be. It's very much in front of it's time but my money's on Jag not selling a great deal of these!! Too post-modern!! The interior is out of an old mans smoking room!!!

I know what you mean by an old man`s smoking room, all Leather n polished wood etc like Jags of old and the new S Type mark 2.It`s a sign of high quality cars though. The cabin on this one is mostly polished Ali finished with compsite trim, very Ford/Mazda,even the interior light looks as if it is straight out of my Mondeo,so does the clocks & door trims.
Your right,Jag wont sell many of these .It`s not Jaguar enough.
there were rumours that Ford were going to release a new model of the Capri that was first launched 1962/3,perhaps this should have been it ?
I think Fords next big release in the Focus CC it looks sweet ............ i want one but chances of getting a half decent engine size / boot capacity & space is slim to none. Bit like the New Tigra lovely car but the insurance is too high for what it is

A bit of usless info....The chief designer for Jaguar was at some test meet and guess who was there?...Jon Golding off Home Grown Hot Rods in Southend with his best in Britain Deuce Coupe. The Jag guy was thrilled and told of his Deuce models on his desk. The one wheel at each corner is the perfect look to him and he tries to achieve that with his designs but red tape is aproblem.
Anyway...he ordered a Deuce to be built for himself by Jon.
