Ok, my first cruise was in the 70's in Canada in a loaded Dodge Charger driven by my Cuz. T'was in the evening driving slowish through downtown Toronto with masses of people lining the pavement.
Got my first car, customised it as you do, started cruising Chelsea. Same thing driving slowish down Kings Road over the Bat bridge and back. Sometimes up to Wandsworth bridge and back. Again the road full of people watching the posing cars.
Found the same thing on a smaller scale in Colchester recently. Driving up the high street Friday nights and being the only Rod amongst the modern customs. Street full of people outside clubs and bars. Had to drive slow cos of the ammount of lights. A few other rods and customs joined me but winter and nights drew in.
So to me I suppose cruising, fundimentaly, is about lots of custom cars driving slow and posing with an audience watching. Loud boom box music was never part of it.
What's your ideas about cruising? Whats good about an illegal cruise? whats good about a legal Cruise? Can we have cruises for all custom cars with no age barrier? Can we have seperate cruises, age of car or type of car related, with a mixed one occasionally?
i voted for showing your car and ice. Talking 2 others is a natural thing that happens at cruises and shows, coz ppl always mention things about your car. I love watching ppl do doughnuts/burnouts, but wouldn't/couldnt do it in my car. I hate the twats at illegal cruises who insist on ****in of coppers by doing it in front of them. theres a time and place 4 it.
I regulary meet up with a 306 group and we just sit around and chat about our latest mods or moans about our cars. This is the best time u can have as theres no chavs out 2 prove their knob size....
anyway thats my opinion, take it or leave it, im not out 2 make enemies.
Most cruise ive been to i park up(Clean Car) walk bout looking at other ppls motors and sum times i start talking to others bout there mod etc. I have been to a few Vectra meets which slightly diff coz most of the ppl u build a bond with over the net then u then meet them face to face um for the 1st time others time and time again.
