My Deuce. You wont miss me if you pass by me!! Pic taken on the Isle Of Skye.
My 1932 Ford Model 'B'. Ford only made these for One year, between the 'Waltons' Model 'A' and the ZZ Top type cars. However, this isn't a stock B. Ford body style powered by GM!!
Engine/Mechanics.
Chevrolet small block 5.8 Litre V8, 350 BHP and 350 FT/ILBS torque. Boxed and strenghthened chassis, Volvo [Dana] rear axle with disc brakes, Wisbech Engineering front suspension unit [Clip] with vented uprated Ford discs, Fiesta servo with Jaguar master cylinder, AVO adjustable shox all round, Panhard rod, home made steering system up to hybrid Fiesta/ Escort rack, home made 2.5 inch exhausts, Walker radiator with Spal fan {fan strong enough to drive the car}, Pertronix ignition, too much more to mention.
Body
GRP from original mould, filled roof [they came with fabric roof], filled cowl vents, 2.5 inch roof chop, rumble seat converted to trunk, 5.5x15 front wheels with Toyo's, 8x15 rear with 31" tall tyres.
Doesn't burn rubber easily in the dry. But it grips straight off the line. So beware if you meet me at lights and I feel like some fun You'll beat me after the speed limit though as I'm not likely to do anything stupid. In the WET, 180 degree turns if booted. Just cruisin' in the wet.
No quarter mile times yet. Waitng for One of my mates from Sudbury to get his Chevy powered pro-street Mk2 Cortina finished so we can race. Another Sudbury mate has finished his Ford Pop and waiting for the same thing.
My engine is only mildly modified and can expect quarter to be in the 13's. But, if I get beeten by a Cortina or Pop......I'll just have to modify some more. Cam, Supercharger.
Not likely to use NOS as this is not worth it and hyped, may only gain 1 second for £100's outlay.
You've got to love hot rods, classic looks with muscle power! I am 99% sure I heard (kind of saw) you drive down Sudbury one way system Saturday, I was outside the church (was a bridesmaid!)
Never knew there was such a scene in this area for it (after reading about the meets in the links section) Isn't there some kind of hot rod run from Ipswich to Felixstowe every year? (We wanted to go but didn't make it)

Yes you did see me in Sudbury. We were admiring the wedding coach and horses as we drove past the fire station and church.
There is an annual classic car run from Ipswich to felixtowe. Hot rods aren't allowed on this.
However, the street rod Nationals was held at the Suffolk County Showground this year on August bank holiday. This is the biggest Street Rod event in Europe. We had a cruise to Felixtowe which turned out to be bigger than the classic car run. This gave the police a headache but the only complaint we had was from a member of the public who got soaked by a water gun.
The NATS will be staying at Ipswich for the next few years at least.
Yep there are a lot of rods, muscle and customs in the sudbury area. A black Chevy Camino (hot V8), Green Ford Pop(Rover V8), Yellow Ford Pilot(BMW engine), Blue and White 56 Chevy, Morris Minor(hot engine), Red Mustang convertable, Chrysler Le Baron, Chevy pick up, Ford Zephyr, 2x Ford Capris (modified), Opel Kadett(Retro Cars feature), and my Deuce (Part time). Also my mates Mk 2 Cortina being built (has been on the road, called Sporty Corti)
I used to be about a lot in Sudbury. I lived in Gt. Waldingfield where I built the car. Split from my wife a year and a half ago (traded me in for a much newer model) and moved to Ipswich, where I rented a house and crashed the rod when it was off the road until last xmass. Now living with my new girlfriend in Colchester. Still cruise Sudbury as my daughter still lives there half the time.
Give us a toot if you see us and I'll give you an ah-ooh-ah!!
The horses and carriage was beautiful! (Coming from most unromantic person in the world!) Ah its the August Bank Holiday event that I was thinking of then. Surprising how many nice cars there are in the Sudbury area that you rarely see. They the older Capris? Other half nearly bought a late 2.8i recently, can't remember how many Capris he had now, bet they'll all go up in value since 5th gear featured them and giving one away Z
