Built around a spaceframe tubular chassis the Mégane Trophy shares little with its more sensible hatchback relatives, except the styling. However with a huge rear wing, slick-shod race wheels, massively widened wheel-arches and lowered bodywork it is certainly no ordinary Mégane.
Powered by a mid-mounted 320bhp 3.5-litre V6 engine the Mégane Trophy will hit the track later this month for initial testing - it should be quite a sight. Racing car fans will have to wait a while for its UK debut though, as its one race at Donington Park is not until September 2005.
